Chilka

Chilka Roti is a traditional and quite famous food dish from Jharkhand. This recipe is not only delicious but also rich in nutrition. Ingredient:

Rice                            :           1.5 cups

Split chickpeas          :           3/4 cup

Salt to taste

 

To make Chilka Roti, take rice and split chickpeas in a container, and soak them overnight. In the morning, drain the water and take out the soaked rice and chickpeas. Then, grind the soaked rice and chickpeas in a mixer grinder to make a thick paste. Now, add salt according to taste and mix the paste well in a container.

 

Instructions:

 

Now, heat a non-stick pan over medium heat. Grease it lightly with some oil. Spread the rice and lentil paste on the pan using a small bowl or spoon, and cook until it turns lightly brown. Flip the chilka roti over and cook the other side as well, greasing lightly with oil until it turns golden brown. Repeat this process for all the paste to make chilka roti. Serve them hot with chutney or yogurt.
